10 hours in Macau, the 'Las Vegas of Asia'. In this series, I have concentrated on that overtly ostentatious side of Macau's architecture, the buildings that house the wealth-generating casinos set to make Macau the richest place on the planet. The first thing that struck me was the Grand Lisboa. Jutting out from a context of low rise Portuguese/Chinese architecture, this imposing golden edifice looked so out of proportion, as though it was defying gravity.
